Abubakar Atiku Muhammad, the Emir of Zurmi in Zamfara State, who was dethroned last April for aiding and abetting bandits is dead.

He died in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, in a private hospital following a protracted illness.

The deceased was removed, along with the Emir of Dansadau, Husaini Umar, on April 27, 2021, for allegedly aiding terrorists and bandits in their respective Emirates.

A family member, Sani Zurmi, also confirmed that the remains of the deceased Emir were yet to be brought back to Nigeria for burial.

“His remains are still in Dubai due to non availability of plight to bring the deceased back home for burial,” Zurmi said.
