Woman stabs boyfriend to death over sharing formula of proceeds from internet fraud

knife, stab, blood

27-year-old Oluchi Nzemechi has landed in police net for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Kelechi Nzemechi, to death following a disagreement over the sharing formula of proceeds from their internet fraud, commonly known as “Yahoo Yahoo.”

The unfortunate incident happened in Ikeduru local government area of Imo State.

According to a statement by the spokesman of the command in Imo State, ASP Henry Okoye, Oluchi admitted to committing the crime.

It was gathered that the victim had lured her into cybercrime, and together they defrauded an Indonesian individual of 250 million rupiah.

Tensions escalated during discussions about how to divide the ill-gotten gains, which resulted in a fatal argument between the couple.

Oluchi allegedly stabbed Kelechi with a kitchen knife during the altercation.

The suspect reportedly attempted to frame the crime scene by leaving a note beside Kelechi’s lifeless body, implying revenge from unidentified associates in the criminal underworld.

The note reads, “You think you can eat my money and go free? I am baba for the boys. I am coming for your wife and your child, including your family.”

Further investigation revealed that Oluchi and Kelechi had been living together since 2019 and had a child together.

The police assured the public that necessary measures were being taken to recover the alleged 250 million Indonesian Rupiah for potential return to the victim.

Oluchi is currently undergoing interrogation at the State Criminal Investigation Department and will face legal proceedings for her alleged involvement in the crime.
