Millions of Nigerians across the globe are still wondering why the mainstream media in the country suddenly developed a cold feet after the records released by Chicago State University—CSU, indicted President Bola Tinubu for forgery.

Nigerians are yet to recover from the shock after the records released by Chicago State University revealed that the certificate Mr Tinubu has been parading audaciously was forged.

More indicting is the fact that the records from the US institution further showed that Tinubu who was admitted into the school was a female and not a male.

Analysis of the document from South-West College which President Bola Tinubu used in gaining admission into Chicago State University, appeared to belong to a female.

Also, the Social Security Number on the CSU certificate he presented, was issued in Virginia in 1976 to a female.

The Social Security Number since then has been used by Bola A. Tinubu and Abimbola Adenike Tinubu, a medical doctor in Louisiana, United States.

Also, Nigerians are wondering if Abimbola Adenike Tinubu could be the real owner of the Cambridge GCE result in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, which was part of the academic records for “Bola Tinubu” released by the Chicago State University—CSU.

To further authenticate these revelations, officials from Chicago State University on Wednesday during deposition, disowned the certificate Tinubu submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission—INEC during the last controversial election.

The CSU officials made the denial during deposition under oath before Judge Nancy Maldonado of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in Chicago.

They did not only disown Tinubu’s forged certificate, also, the stamp and other items on the certificate were completely disowned. The officials pointedly denied knowing where the Nigerian leader got the certificate from.

The details denied by the officials also include the alleged clerical errors for date of birth, gender, social security number and name on the university’s certificate.

Other details in contention include his claim that he attended a secondary school that did not exist till 4 years after he supposedly graduated from the university.

But with all these massive and verifiable revelations, why is the mainstream media in Nigeria still not reporting this global shame? The answer is not farfetched. They have been captured. Remember, while growing up, we were warned not to talk when eating.

When it was announced that CSU has officially released Tinubu’s records, some of these media houses immediately went berserk with outrageous headline like, “CSU releases Tinubu’s academic records, authenticate certificate”. Though, this was deliberately done to deceive Nigerians from knowing the real truth. But they ran out of luck as the deposition by Chicago State University officials triumphantly shutdown their amorous effort to kill the truth.

Before now, NewsBand had reported how Mr Dele Alake, the Minister of Mines and Steal allegedly approached some mainstream media publishers with a deal to help offset their wage bills to their reporters in exchange to shut out critical stories of President Tinubu and his wobbling administration. Millions of Naira was mapped out for the project.

From all indication, Nigerians can categorically infer that the whole plot is panning out well for the powers that be as these mainstream media keep working tirelessly to suppress the forgery scandal with a misleading version of reports. But will they succeed? The answer is no.

However, despite the effort of the enemies of truth to pocket the mainstream media, it is very important to note that there are still media houses with integrity.

These media outlets will remain logically confrontational about this forgery scandal until justice is done either by the National Assembly or the Supreme Court.

All of us at the same time cannot sell the truth for a grain of beans.
