Barrister Emeka Okafor has given reasons why he joined Anambra State gubernatorial race slated to hold on the 6th of November 2021

Mr Emeka who will be running the race under Senator Andy Ubah ticket as the deputy governor said, Anambra State despite being blessed with human and material resources has remained underdeveloped because the present crop of leaders in power lack vision and innovation

He said over the last 7 years, the leadership of the state has not fostered ideas, solved problems which are facing the people of Anambra on a daily basis or even created an enabling environment for businesses to thrive in the state

Describing Governor Obiano’s administration as failure, Barrister Emeka said APC we will aggressively push for a water scheme that will provide water in all streets of major cities in Anambra State while ensuring that no part of the state lacks power supply or adequate security.

The statement read, “My name is Barrister Emeka Okafor. I am the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives’ Congress in Anambra State for the November 6 Governorship Poll.

“The reason I entered the race with Sen. Andy Ubah, the Governorship Candidate of the APC is because we feel very deeply that Anambra State needs to heal and for the past 20 years, I have devoted my life to finding solutions to problems in my community and have the ability to apply new and innovative solutions to a state of 5 million people. I have been fortunate to meet people of various economic classes, age, religion and ideology. I have heard their needs and desires and I can assure you that we will not rest until every Anambrarian has been lifted up.

“Anambra State has everything it takes to give the people the best that life can offer but on a daily basis, we see that the state is not making progress as her development has been stifled for the past 7 years under a leadership that lacks vision and purpose.

“For the past 7 years, the leadership of the state has not fostered ideas, solved problems which confront the common man on a daily basis or even created an enabling environment for businesses to thrive in the state. Our state is one that is generously blessed by God but today, there is nothing to show for this gift. There has not been the political will to lift the state from obvious underdevelopment and redirect her growth for sustainable development. Despite the huge resources at the disposal of the state government, lack of basic social amenities and basic infrastructure are still a recurring decimal.

“The billions of naira being wasted by the APGA government of Willie Obiano on white elephant projects in the state which have no economic value to the people of the state could have been sufficient to provide access roads across all towns and villages in the state, create massive employment for the teeming population of our university graduates and foster an industrial economy.

“In contrast to Chief Willie Obiano’s government, we would aggressively push for a water scheme that will provide water in all streets of major cities in Anambra State while ensuring that no part of the state lacks power supply or adequate security. We will also ensure that all the interconnecting federal roads in and across the state are durably constructed. This will enable industries to flock into the state and grab the opportunity which we will offer in the form of infrastructural facilities to set up their industries in our state.

“As governor and deputy governor, Sen. Andy Ubah and I would make sure that the people of our state eat what we produce and export what we produce. Our healthcare must be revolutionised to mitigate health challenges which are currently ravaging our communities. Most importantly, we will no longer ignore indigent families in our state. As the government we bring is people-oriented, we will empower the most indigent families in our communities in ways that will enable them to access healthcare, ensure that they feed well and ensure that their children are not denied the right to education.

“Together, we can create the state we desire. Join us on the journey for a greater Anambra State.
