Stingy is a very common word, which in simplest definition means “ungenerous or unwillingness to spend money”.

We have dug deeper to see if any dictionary definition says stingy means unwillingness to spend money unnecessarily. Of course, no dictionary has defined stingy as such. If any did, then it would have been appropriate to describe HE Peter Obi as truly being stingy.

But how can a man who spends millions of his personal money, visiting schools all over the country and supporting them financially in order to improve standards be described as stingy?

How can a man who spends multi millions in naira offering scholarships to people to pursue doctorate degrees mostly outside the country be described as being stingy?

How can a man who spends his personal resources visiting hospitals all over the country and donating millions and medical materials to improve standards be described as stingy?

How can a man who spends his birthday celebrations with different orphanages, donating cash and items on yearly basis be described as being stingy?

And while as governor…

How can a governor, who gave each first-class graduating student of Anambra State origin N1 million cash, when the naira exchange rate was below N150 to the dollar, be classified as stingy?

How can a man who purchased brand new jeeps for the entire 177 traditional ruler (Igwe) in Anambra State to enhance comfort and encourage them to be part of maintaining a saner society be described as stingy?

How can a man who provided all his commissioners with brand new befitting vehicles to aide in improving output be described as being stingy?

How can a man who bought brand new buses for all secondary schools in his state, built, renovated, provided ICT facilities including brand new computers and internet facilities as well as gave principals N10 million every year to continue to maintain and improve standards be described as stingy?

How can a man who bought brand new vehicles for all magistrates and judges in his state, built them befitting quarters to ensure that integrity is maintained in the Judiciary sector be accused of being stingy?

How can a man who ordered for 2000 vehicles from Innoson Motors Ltd, paid six months upfront to support local production as well as enhance efficiency in the benefitting sectors like security, education, judiciary, health, etc be described as being stingy?

How can a man, who paid N5000 every month to all people of his state above 70 years all through his term and left resources aside to continue for two years after he left office, be described as stingy?

How can a man, who went round the country, distributing palliatives during COVID-19 debacle, be described as being stingy?

The Labour Party presidential candidate is a very generous man but his own ideas about generosity is unique. If you want to attract his generosity, use education, health, and any practical means of production or any genuine cause that will improve mankind. He never spends money that will not add value to humanity. That is why he is Mr. Prudent. That is why he proved that we have enough in our dear country to make it work for us by not only achieving excellently in all sectors as governor of Anambra State but also saving for the future.

Of course, those people who lack the discipline to cut costs of governance resist stealing from the public till and involve prudence in managing public money call him names for saving people’s money for the people.

Peter Gregory Obi is who Nigeria needs. The youths appreciate his type of stinginess. Afenifere, PANDEF, Southsouth Forum, Ohanaeze, Northern Islamic Clerics, former President Olusegun Obasanjo and so many others love his kind of stinginess.

Get your PVC if you have not already done so and be prepared to vote this man into power on February 25. His type of stinginess will definitely usher in a new Nigeria.
