The embattled leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, Mr Nnamdi Kanu has said he cannot be tried by any court in Nigeria.
He stated this on Monday, after the Federal High Court in Abuja presided over by Justice Binta Nyako rejected his request for bail or to be moved from the Department of State Services custody to a prison or house arrest.
Rattled by the judge’s pronouncement, Kanu began to shout from the dock and protested that he would not stand trial before any court in Nigeria.
According to the separatist leader, any attempt to put him on trial would amount to a breach of Nigeria’s Constitution and international laws.
He said Section 2, Subsection 3F of the Terrorism Prevention and Prohibition Act, 2022 prevents any court of law in the country from trying him.
