The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has formally responded to the undercover investigation carried by Fisayo Soyombo on behalf of The Cable Newspaper and The ICIR.
Mr. Aregbesola made the response at the closing ceremony of Project Activities Support by the European Union to the Nigerian Correctional Service [NCoS].
At the occassion, he launched NCoS’s TRAINING CURRICULUM/DERAD TEACHING TEMPLATE.
Speaking at the occasion, the Interior Minister commended Fisayo Soyombo, Simon Kolawole and The Cable Newspaper for their undercover work at the Ikoyi Correction Center.
Aregbesola said: “While we await the outcome of the investigation to determine if what was reported was right or wrong, the intention of the publisher, undercover reporter and everyone involved in the reportage is worth celebrating.”
