Twist in Sen Ifeanyi Ubah’s attack as more eyewitness accounts reveal likely motive

A likely motive for Sunday’s gun attack on the convoy of the Senator representing Anambra South senatorial district in the National Assembly, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, has emerged.
Further investigation by this reporter revealed from bystanders that witnessed the ugly incident firsthand gave a more lucid purpose for the bloody attack which left no fewer than six persons, including two police personnel and four civilians, dead.
The information revealed that one Chief Onyeka Nnoli, a Lagos-based businessman cum clearing agent, might have been trailed from Nri in Anaocha council of Anambra State by some gunmen.
They were said to have double-crossed and blocked his vehicle at the Nkwo Enugwu-Ukwu market intersection and taken him captive, apparently for a ransom.
At that point they were said to have shot into the air in a bid to scare people away and aid their escape bid.
That was when Sen. Ifeanyi Uba’s convoy arrived the scene and all hell was let loose.
