On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu assured the military of his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of the Nigerian Army.
He made this pledge while commissioning a newly built military barracks in Abuja.
The accommodation facility, named ‘Bola Ahmed Tinubu Barracks,’ is located in Asokoro.
It includes quarters for various ranks, such as 16 Major Generals, 34 Brigadier Generals, 60 Major-Colonel Flats, 60 Lieutenant Captain Flats, and 180 Senior Non-Commissioned Officers’ blocks. Additionally, it offers 264 flats for Corporals and below.
This newly constructed barracks addresses the acute shortage of accommodation for Army Headquarters and other establishments.
It features amenities like sports facilities, worship centers, a network of roads, and a power house, enhancing the living conditions for personnel.
During the commissioning, President Tinubu praised the men and officers of the Nigerian Armed Forces as heroes.
He expressed gratitude for their contributions, stating, “You are our heroes, and I thank you for what you have been doing for this country.”
Highlighting their remarkable service, President Tinubu emphasized his administration’s ongoing commitment to the military’s welfare.
He remarked, “What you are doing for Nigeria is remarkable.
The only way to appreciate is to continue to show support to the men and women in uniform.”
The president highlighted military welfare’s significance, emphasizing how the barracks project fits perfectly with the Federal Government’s commitment.
He remarked, “It’s crucial to know that the Federal Government will consistently provide what troops require to secure victory.”
