Tinubu mourns as ex-president Yar’adua’s mother, Dada dies
Dada Yar’adua, the mother of Nigeria’s former President, Mr Umaru Yar’adua and former Vice President Shehu Yar’adua is dead.
She died on Monday evening at the Katsina Teaching Hospital after a brief illness.
Hajiya Dada Yar’adua was also the mother of Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, who currently serves as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army.
The family is yet to announce the burial arrangements.
Her death marks the end of an era for the Yar’adua family, who have played significant roles in Nigeria’s political history.
Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu has commiserated with the Yar’Adua family over her death.
Mr Tinubu in a statement made by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale extended his condolences to Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua, the people of Katsina State, and to the many lives the late matriarch touched.
He mourned Hajiya Dada, extolled her legacy of compassion, faith, honesty, and good fellowship.
Tinubu however, prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and affirms that the beloved and remarkable matriarch of the Yar’Adua family will always be remembered for the support, peace, joy, and comfort she offered to many.
