“The over 100 million Nigerians living in poverty will be our structure. The over 35 million Nigerians without jobs will be our structure. The millions of advanced Nigerians being owed pensions and gratuities will be our structure. The millions of out-of-school Nigerian children will be our structure. The Nigerian students that have stayed at home instead of their various institutions for five months, since February 14 and still counting will be our structure. The millions of Nigerians in diaspora, who want a safe and prosperous country they can come back to, will be our structure. The millions of genuine and peaceful agitators from all zones in the country, who desire a united country that loves all her citizens without discrimination whatsoever, will be our structure. Majority of Nigerians, who want a country they can be proud to call theirs will be our structure.”
These may not be verbatim quotes of the Labour Party Presidential Candidate, HE Peter Obi, but they can easily be attributed to him.
Political parties and their member politicians of the old-order mentality, whose corruption-riddled style of politics is at the verge of extinction, have resorted to several unsuccessful attempts to pin down the political permutations and discourse about the 2023 general election. They front the so-called structure narrative in their bid to stem the fast-growing acceptance of the Labour Party and OBI-DATTI candidacy by the Nigerian masses.
Bizarrely not acknowledging the sweeping wave across the nation, the same political class that put the country in her present quagmire is obdurate in continuing on same lane of business as usual. If they knew what is coming, they would have been talking of dismantling their own damaging structures that are only riddled with the nauseating corruption of vote buying and all manner of election rigging.
What the new order demands is a different kind of structure – a structure to be manned by Nigerians, whose only desire is to be at the polling units, vote, monitor, insist on votes being counted and the accurate results uploaded via the BVAS machines.
Looking more critically, it seems the only baggage this old brigade see of the Labour Presidential Candidate and his running mate, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed is this having no structure issue.
They both have clean and openly verifiable backgrounds.
They both have very open, traceable and easily verifiable certificates.
They both have very transparent medical history.
They both have no iota of corruption against their persons despite having considerably been in public service and been well-scrutinised.
Again, they are comparatively youthful and enterprising, full of capacity and adventure, to the admiration of the Nigerian youths.
There must be something to campaign against them with and the multitude of old-order opposition is hanging onto the no structure mantra, trying so hard and sweating profusely to hoodwink their remaining supporters from cross-carpeting to the Obi-Datti Movement.
But having heard them, Nigerians have been forming the structure. As of today, there are 36 OBIdient Movement groups that have registered under the main coalition front – Coalition for Peter Obi, CPO. From all over the world and since Datti joined the movement, many more groups are springing up and registering on daily basis.
When the Nigerian youths said they want to take back their country they were not joking.
We call on you to get your PVC and be ready at any polling station across the 774 Local Government Areas in the country. The Labour Party will have more than sufficient representatives on ground to protect your votes. The structure is building very rapidly.
