The Lessons Of Power

Yesterday, Former President Goodluck Jonathan who had presided over the most corrupt regime in the history of Nigeria, turned 60.

Flipping through the papers, you will discover that birthday wishes and social media hypes were conspicuously missing, unlike when he was in power.

There are lessons to be learnt in this. When you are in power, use your position to touch the lives of the masses, who will remember you when you leave.

The “big men” Goodluck enriched do not remember him anymore. But when he was President, they struggled for newspaper advertisements to impress him.

In the entire south south region, nothing can be pointed at, as what Jonathan did.

Yenagoa, his state capital is in a sorry state.

Give or take, if Goodluck had another opportunity to govern Nigeria, who knows if he would have made amends. But this is Nigeria, not Zimbabwe.

There is only one thing I learnt from him, when he said, “Everything cannot be quantified by Naira and Kobo.”

Power is transient, let he who has power be magnanimous in it, hence he stumbles.

Blessed Birthday @60 to our President Emeritus.

I wish you Goodluck with Jonathan.
