Alhaji Bako Bala, chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Suru Local Government Area of Kebbi has been killed by suspected bandits.
Bala was reportedly abducted by the assailants before he was later killed on Wednesday.
The unfortunate incident was disclosed by Alhaji Zaidu Kofa Sabuwa, Special Adviser to the Kebbi Governor on Television and Radio.
He said the armed criminals kidnapped Bala in his hometown, shot him before abandoning his blood soaked body.
Bala was later rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Birnin Kebbi, where he was pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, Kebbi State has increasingly become a hotspot for kidnappings for ransom, with criminal elements operating despite ongoing efforts by security forces and the state government to dismantle their hideouts and rescue victims.
