Former presidential candidate and rights activist, Mr. Omoyele Sowore, has thrown his support behind Lagos corps member Ushie Rita Uguamaye, popularly known as Raye, as she prepares to face disciplinary action for her viral video criticizing the Tinubu administration.
Raye, currently serving in the Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos, sparked controversy after condemning the government’s handling of inflation and describing Lagos as a “smelly state.”
Despite calls for her to delete the video, she refused and was subsequently summoned by her Local Government Inspector (LGI) for disciplinary proceedings.
In a show of solidarity, Sowore, along with his legal team, accompanied Raye to the LGI’s office.
He posted a video on his X page, updating his followers on the situation.
“The journey with youth corper Ushie Rita Uguamaye has commenced in Lagos.”
