Social media account of CMD ATBUTH hacked, hacker sends scam messages, admin issues disclaimer

The social media account of the Chief Medical Director (CMD)of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, has been hacked.

This was confirmed in a disclaimer issued by Mr. Usman Abdullahi Koli, on behalf of the CMD ATBUTH.

According to Mr. Koli, the fraudster who hacked the account has been sending scam messages, demanding money from the general public for some phantom contract and/or job appointment.

He, therefore, urged recipients of such messages received with phone number 08029306734 to disregard them as the management will not be held responsible.

The disclaimer reads: “The attention of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, has been drawn over the misinformation, deceit and works of impostors that demand money from the general public.

“This sad incident followed the hacking of the Chief Medical Director’s accounts on social media platforms, the general public should therefore disregard any message or call received with this number 08029306734 as the management will not be held responsible.

“For avoidance of doubt, the CMD has never make contact with any one regarding contract, job appointment or seek any kind of help or to offer assistance to any individual via phone.

“All relevant information concerning ATBUTH or the Chief medical Director can be gotten through the Public Relations Office of the hospital or through 08168674594.

“Be wary of scammers because a stitch in time saves nine.

“Accordingly, the ATBUTH, in regard to the said efflux, urged the general public to disregard any information circulating on social media bearing the CMD’s name and report the perpetrators of this fraudulent act to the hospital or relevant security agencies.” Read more.
