The leadership of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has charged governors to sack any market chairman that shuts any market on Monday in the lingering sit-at-home order imposed by the leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

IPOB had imposed the sit-at-home order in protest to the arrest and detention its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, in Kenya.

Speaking against the order in a press release made available to ElombahNews, MASSOB Leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu condemned what he termed “the criminal and violent acts of some miscreants in disguise as pro-Biafra agitators causing havoc and atrocities on Mondays sit-at-home exercises.

He said: “We can no longer watch criminals destroying the economies of Ndigbo in the name of sit at home exercise. It is no longer acceptable to MASSOB.

“Starting from Monday, 20th of September, there will be no more sit at home exercise for the people of Biafra.

“The weekly sit at home exercise have inflicted uncountable economic injuries to Ndigbo. It is an exercise in futility.

“The weekly sit at home exercises are no longer for Biafra actualization and restoration, it is setting the struggle backward.”

MASSOB, therefore, charged the governors of South East region to remove any market chairman or tricycle union chairman or National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) chairman or any other chairman of commercial unions that continue complying with the Monday sit at home exercises.

“MASSOB will continue to propagate and upholds the interest of Ndigbo in Nigeria.

“We shall not relent in speaking out against the factors that militate and opposes the general interest of Ndigbo in Nigeria.

“Ndigbo are facing a serious and critical dispossession in Nigeria,” Comrade Madu said.

He added that pro-Biafra agitators must avoid anything that derails the political, economical and social interest of Ndigbo while in Nigeria.
