Below is the court injunction stopping intruders from taking over the leadership of Labour Party (LP), thought to be sponsored by some All Progressives Congress (APC) meddlesome interlopers, over allegations of forgery against the National Chairman of the Party, Mr. Julius Abure.
The order followed an order of another court filed by some persons who claimed to be authentic leaders of the party, namely, Mr. Thompson Ehiguese, the chairman of Ward 3, Labour Party, in Edo State, and one Mr. Lucky Shaibu, all of Ward 3 Executive Committee of the party in the state, and six others.
Read the court order below:
Recall that a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, sitting at Maitama, on April 5, 2023, issued an order, restraining Mr. Julius Abure from parading himself as the National Chairman of the Party.
See the attached below:
In a deft move, however, Mr. Abure approached a court of competent jurisdiction to stop the usurpers until the case is heard.
Despite the court order, however, seven members of the National Working Committee of the Party, in cahoots with police operatives, attacked the national headquarters of the Labour Party in Abuja on Thursday.
The attackers took over the party’s secretariat and announced the National Vice-Chairman (South), Lamidi Bashir Apapa, as the acting chairman of the party.
