The Screening Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has recommended that Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and the erstwhile Minister for Transportation, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, and ten other presidential aspirants be placed on a “safe list” after the screening of the aspirants earlier in the week.

The Committee also recommended that Serving Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Governor of Cross River State, Ben Ayade and seven others be placed on a red list.

Other aspirants placed on the “safe list” include:

Meanwhile the rest seven aspirants excluded from the safe list are:

  4. Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Dimeji Bankole

A source disclosed that all twenty-three aspirants screened were cleared and qualified but the committee recommended a “safe list” of thirteen names.

It is not immediately clear why the recommendation to place some on safe list was made but a source suggested it may be to clear the coast for some aspirants while ‘throwing others under the bus’.
