Amidst denials by past and present governments of Anambra State, News Band is in possession of air-tight information confirming, not only that the former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, saved millions of Dollars for the state across multiple banks, but how the money was squandered.

The air-tight information in possessions of News Band showed in detail how the former Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Maduabuchukwu Obiano, and the current Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, colluded, sold off and squandered the $156 million saved in Fidelity, Diamond and Access Banks by the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate when he was the state governor.

The principal actors involved in the heist include Access Bank, Afrinvest Asset Management Limited, and Golden Tulip (Agulu Lake Hotel and Resort) in Anambra State.

Others are Mr. Mark Okoye, Mr. Amaechi Ndili, Mr. Joe Billy Ekwunife, Mr Ifeatu Onejeme, Mr. Hilary Obigwe, and others.

The full identity of the individuals involved in the scandal are:

  1. Mark Okoye is the former Anambra State Commissioner for Economic Planning, Budget and Development Partners, who later became the Managing Director/CEO of Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA). He was also the Special Adviser to former Governor Obiano on Economic Planning and Budget.
  2. Amaechi Ndili is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Golden Tulip Hotel. He is also the CEO and Executive Chairman of CarePay Nigeria and the CEO of Lionstone Offshore Services Limited.
  3. Joe Billy Ekwunife, now late, is the former Managing Director of ANSIPPA.
  4. Ifeatu Onejeme is the former Anambra State Commissioner for Finance.
  5. Hilary Obigwe is the former Anambra State Accountant General: 2018-2022.
  6. Fidelity Bank Plc. and Access Bank.
  7. Mrs Helen Nweri, the Anambra Accountant General in 2014.
  8. Mrs. Ngozi Okonkwo, the Anambra Accountant General in 2015-2018.
  9. Afrinvest Asset Management Limited.

The people and institutions mentioned above played significant roles in the series of special reports that will follow detailing how Anambra State was raped by the officials appointed to safeguard its fortunes.
