The Ebonyi State government has gone broke while constructing its massive airport, a document obtained by News.band has revealed.

According to the document, which is a letter addressed to the Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, the state government lacked funds to purchase equipments for the airport which is nearing completion.

Governor David Nweze Umahi, who signed the letter, is begging President Muhammadu Buhari the sum of ten billion Naira to purchase the necessary equipments.

Governor Umahi pledged to hand airport over the airport to the Federal Government to concession and supervise if it will come to the state’s aid.
