La Liga, Santiago Bernabeu – Real Madrid 7 (Pepe 41, Ronaldo 50, 58, 64, 76, Jese 77, Bale 81) Celta Vigo 1 (Aspas 62)

Cristiano Ronaldo unleashed his dragon when his club visited Celta Vigo with a 7-1 demolition and Ronaldo finding the back side four times.

With this latest development, Ronaldo has scored his 30th La Liga hat-trick leaving Lionel Messi behind with 26 hat-tricks in La Liga.

All seemed to be going well for Celta with a 14th minute header onto the crossbar by Iago Aspas

The ball dropped before Aspas again, but his effort was blocked by Navas with his legs which would have set the ball rolling for the visitors.

The pressure kept building for Zinedine Zidane’s men, who were lacklustre in the first half, and were barely able to sustain the tempo of Celta.

Then came Pepe in the 41st minute which was the tonic the Portuguese wizkid had been waiting for to prove his point, only to no one in particular.

Pepe gave the hosts the lead, heading in from a right-wing corner – settling Real’s nerves, and they let loose after the break.

In the 50th minute, Ronaldo threw in all he got from 25-yards and turned the roller coaster against the visitors who completely lost touch with the game.

His 50th and 58th minutes’ strikes were replied by Aspas in the 62nd minute but the cry was far from over as Ronaldo responded two minutes later with a beautiful free-kick.

The strike that moved Ronaldo into second in the all-time charts came from a header, before allowing others to get in on the act.

Substitute Jese added one in quick succession a minute later before Gareth Bale rounded off the 7-1 thriller four minutes with barely ten minutes to go.

Ronaldo’s fourth in the massacre was his 252nd La Liga goal, surpassing Telmo Zarra for second place in all-time La Liga scoring charts behind Lionel Messi with his 305 nets.

Barca may be 12 points clear, but that result will do their confidence a world of good ahead of their midweek Champions League clash with Roma.
