Re: Breaking News: Ifeanyi Nnaemeka Allegedly Murders Awka Man Over Land Dispute
By Chukwudimma Aaron-Okonkwo
On Tuesday 11th February, 2025, Anambra Current News; an online news blogger published a Facebook post with the above title. In the said post on Facebook, they alleged that Mr. Ifeanyi Nnaemeka, popularly known as Emma Ego Ise, murdered a 36 years old man Mr. Nonso Onwubiko, popularly known as Achala, in Awka, the Anambra State capital.
By this rejoinder, we wish to set the records straight with the facts and counter the false narratives being spread around by certain bloggers about the incident.
At approximately 12:40pm on the said date, a meeting was held at the site near the new government house complex to discuss land boundaries between Mr. Ifeanyi Nnaemeka and another landowner. The deceased, Achala, was present as a witness.

Upon seeing the Anambra Anti-cult squad whom Mr. Nnaemeka had invited for security reasons, Achala took to his heels and picked race. As he was running, he was urged by others to stop running for he has no reason to run. He ran and fell down in the process, but didn’t slump to death immediately. Some minutes after, he was brought to the initial point where he ran out from, and it was then noticed that he was grasping for breath. He slumped later.
Immediately after he slumped, Mr. Nnaemeka, still very much on ground right there, promptly requested that Achala be rushed to the hospital for medical attention. It was when at the hospital that the unfortunate report was received that the deceased has succumbed to his condition believing to be cardiac arrest.
It should be clearly noted that nobody chased or physically harmed the deceased during his flight. Nobody manhandled him at all neither was he hit with any object, and equally wasn’t beaten!
Furthermore, there was never any point in time that Mr Nnaemeka threatened the deceased. The anti-cult squad, who are also a witness to the incident, has reported the matter to the police. The police are currently investigating the matter. We urge those spreading false accusations against Mr. Nnaemeka to desist forthwith, and allow the law take its course.
We reiterate that the allegations against Mr. Nnaemeka are false and misleading. We therefore urge the public to be cautious of sensationalised reports and to respect the investigative process.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the deceased, and we sincerely offer our heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. May the soul of the departed rest in peace, and may God grant his loved ones the strength and comfort they need to bear this loss.
The family and associates of Mr. Nnaemeka appreciate the public’s understanding and patience as we await the outcome of the police investigation. We are confident that the truth will prevail, and Mr. Nnaemeka’s reputation will be vindicated.
Thank you.
