Rampaging Berom Militants Kill 40 Persons Including 20y.o Hustler

Another round of crises may be brewing in the Pleatau as rampaging Berom militants has shot and killed a young man identified as Sageer Haruna.

Reports have that that no fewer than fourty Fulani’s may have also been murdered in the attack which occurred at around 6pm on Sunday 30th December, 2018 in Fan District, along Mangu-Barikin Ladi road, Plateau State.

The 20year old deceased who deals in second hand clothes popularly known as “gwanjo” regularly frequents various market for business transaction.

On the fateful he met with his untimely death, Sageer had gone to Pankshin for his business as usual.

Narrating the incidence, the deceased cousin, Abdulmutalib Shehu, who spoke to this reporter narrated that Sageer and his co travelers were ambushed on their way back from Pankshin.

According to Abdulmutalib, “along their way, they encountered a road block at Fan mounted by persons kitted in mobile police uniforms. They soon realized that the “personnel” wore mask.” Abdulmutalib explained.

He further narrated that as soon as the vehicle conveying them stopped, the dreaded men started profiling Fulani’s.

Mr. Shehu Said. “They started shouting that all the Fulani’s in the vehicle should alight. On hearing this, the driver who was Berom by tribe started pleading with the Militants but to no avail.”

According to eyewitnesses who narrated the horrific encounter to Sageer’s family aftermath, the young trader who was the second to alight from the cab was gunned down immediately they sighted his Mekkah (Silver) tooth.

“Immediately they sighted his hakorin Makkah (Meca tooth) without hesitation, one of them shot him twice but his friends were lucky to escape the attack.” Shehu explained.

Speaking further, he said, “when they arrived Jos to my family house they were all in shock and confused before they we able to break the sad story to the family.”

Over the years, occurrence of this nature is noted to have escalated to a full blown crises on the plateau. Residents are hoping that security operatives will nip this one in the bud otherwise the coming days may not be witnessed with refreshing news headlines.

Sageer left his mother, siblings and grandmother whose upkeep where on his shoulder.

The late Sageer’s body is nowhere to be found by his family as at press time.
