President Trump Invites Buhari To The United States
The president of the United States, Mr Donald Trump has invited his Nigerian counterpart, President Muhammadu Buhari on official visit to Washington on April 30.
This was disclosed in a White House official statement issued on Sunday.
According to the statement, the meeting will focus on “fighting terrorism” and “promoting economic growth” between the two countries.
The statement further said that “President Trump looks forward to discussing ways to enhance our strategic partnership and advance our shared priorities: promoting economic growth and reforms, fighting terrorism and other threats to peace and security, and building on Nigeria’s role as a democratic leader in the region.”
In the meantime, President Buhari is in the United Kingdom where he is expected to hold meetings with the Prime Minister, Theresa May and other dignitaries.
