President Tinubu to storm Abidjan for AFCON final
President Bola Tinubu will be in Abidjan on Sunday to watch the final match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the host nation, Ivory Coast in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
This was disclosed by the CAF President, Dr Patrice Motsepe during a press briefing.
When asked by a Nigerian journalist ‘when can Africa host the World Cup again?’, he said, “I know the President of Nigeria is coming for the final, I will ask him to put in a bid for Nigeria to host the World Cup. Nigeria must put in a bid. I will have a conversation with him about it.”
He equally revealed that the 2023 AFCON had over N2 billion viewers worldwide adding that Africans should be proud for this great feat.
“We have had close to 2 billion people watching AFCON globally. We should be proud as Africans and the next one will be even better.”
