Sympathisers have flooded the palace of the Alaafin of Oyo since the news of the death of Oba Lamidi Adeyemi filtered into the town.
Adeyemi died at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti.
Adeyemi ruled for 52 years before his demise, making him the longest-reigning Alaafin. He was aged 82.
Meanwhile, the late paramount ruler will be laid to rest by 4pm after burial rites have been concluded, according to the Oyomesi.
