PHOTOS: Obi visits Jennifer, stabbed victim of February 25 violence in Lagos
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, has paid a surprise visit to Mrs Jennifer Efedi, who was attacked by suspected APC thugs on the 25 of February in an attempt to stop her from exercising her franchise.
Obi confirmed the visit in a short statement posted on his official social media handles.
According to the former Anambra State governor, he used Mrs Jennifer’s visit as a point of contact with every Nigerian who suffered similar fate in their bid to exercise their voting rights, and contribute to a new Nigeria.
He said, “Today, I visited Mrs Jennifer Efedi. She was attacked on 25 February in an attempt to stop her from voting. She stood her ground. Jennifer is one of the great icons of Nigeria’s democracy.
“She is my point of contact with every Nigerian who suffered similar fate in their bid to exercise their voting rights, & contribute to a new Nigeria. Like many Nigerians , I acknowledge her bravery & resoluteness. Jennifer is a true manifestation of Profile in Courage for a new Nigeria.”
