Peter Obi’s Attachment for the fraudulent 1999 constitution: a complaint
Mr. Peter Obi is a man with a large number of followers at home and in the diaspora. On top of that he is an Elder and masses of young people look up to him for guidance and direction. People in such a position have a great responsibility in the community, and therefore are ACCOUNTABLE to the community for the respect graciously given to them.
Context of the complaint:
Nigeria operates a Document known as the 1999 Constitution. However it is a DUMMY Constitution, being a Document not negotiated and not made by the indigenous Ethnic Nations having Sovereignty over their ancestral lands. The 1999 Constitution so-called was obtained in a criminal manner with its Preamble falsely claiming that “We” made and agreed it.
By so doing, the 1999 Constitution is a FORGERY as the Preamble is like a signature appended by every indigenous Ethnic Nation bringing their people, their lands and economic assets into the Unitary Nigeria Union that steals from them, dispossessing them and their children permanently.
1. Let it be made clear that a true Constitution is a Union Agreement. It is the Agreement firstly (i) that the indigenous Ethnic Nations want to be in a Union together, and secondly (ii) how they will be together.
2. Let it be made clear that since the indigenous Ethnic Nations did NOT make or agree the 1999 Constitution, it means that there is NO UNION AGREEMENT. Since there is No Union Agreement, there is therefore NO UNION. (The real entities are the indigenous Ethnic Nations each on their own ancestral lands).
3. Let it be made clear that there once was a Union, a Federation, but it got toppled and terminated by the Military Coups of 1966 and by Gowon when he unilaterally created 12 States in 1967 via Decree 14.
4. Let it be made clear that from the time the Federation was killed off, a grand deception has continued to be played on Nigerians, kidnapping the indigenous Ethnic Nations into a dangerous BOGUS Union through the IMPOSITION of Military Decrees, and today it is by the imposed ILLEGITIMATE 1999 Constitution.
5. Let it be made clear that the political class are Willing Tools who, for the reward of riches-for-life, SUSTAIN, UPHOLD and ENFORCE the fraudulent 1999 Constitution. That is a very serious CRIME and is TREASON against Nigerians.
6. Let it be made clear that only an ENEMY will partake in the fraudulent criminality of IMPOSING a FORGERY upon Nigerians and yet PRETEND that it is a real Constitution.
7. Let it be made clear that whether the leader is a good man or a bad man does NOT MATTER at all since he would govern by the evil 1999 Constitution that empowers the Fulani Conquest Agenda and State Capture and is the source of miseries.
The political class (and their Helpers) have been pushing the “bad leadership” false narrative for decades because it is a formula that they found successfully deceives Nigerians to go to National Elections that renew the life of the 1999 Constitution, when elections should instead be suspended in order to properly obtain fresh CONSTITUTIONAL ARRANGEMENTS by Transitioning for Constitutional Reconstruction.
This is an Orderly Process and there would be no power vacuum since existing governance structures would remain in place in transitional capacity. The final outcome decided by regional Self-Determination Referendums (not at all controlled by INEC) would be a genuine Union as a Federation, or Confederation, or even independent Successor Countries (in Blocs of the peoples’ choosing).
This time every indigenous Ethnic Nation no matter its population size, would be involved in the Union negotiations, and the NINAS Transitioning Template to get it done following South Africa’s transitioning example and using international law instruments, is on the Table.
Mr Peter Obi’s utterances and actions in this regard that are a cause for concern and complaint.
a) Mr Peter Obi believes that it is “bad leadership” and not the fraudulent 1999 Constitution that is holding Nigeria down.
Mr Obi was interviewed on News Central TV, as reported on 16 August 2022, he said:
“The Constitution might have its own problem but that Constitution is not what is keeping us where we are today, it is bad leadership.”

b) Mr Peter Obi pledged allegiance to the 1999 Constitution at Arewa House during the 2023 Presidential Campaign.
Mr Obi said:
“I’m not denying where I’m coming from, I’m running it as a Nigerian and I believe in and defend the Constitution of Nigeria and will govern with the Constitution of Nigeria.”

c) Mr Peter Obi said he would continue to give primacy to the 1999 Constitution during his Revolution Postponed speech in November 2023 after the Supreme Court ruling on the presidential elections. He said:
“We will continue to give primacy to our Constitution, the rule of law, and the protection of ordered liberties.

d) There is also Mr Peter Obi’s open endorsement of one of those considered by many to be villains of One-Nigeria’s (Unitary Nigeria) history, a story of ruthlessly overriding the Sovereignty of indigenous Ethnic Nations using Military Decrees (eg the 1999 Constitution which is Decree 24 deceitfully renamed) or using Military Might as in the Anglo-Nigeria proxy genocidal War presided by Gowon against Eastern Ethnic Nations in 1967-1970 Biafra Republic.
Mr Peter Obi’s praising message to General Gowon on his 90th birthday in 2024 therefore caused uproar among Nigerians, and Igbo publicly expressed their displeasure about the message. By reneging on the Aburi Accord, Gowon overrode the Sovereignty of Igbo Nation and of the other Ethnic Nations of the Eastern Region.
Surely Mr Obi knows that neocolonial puppet leaders have contributed to the ruination of Africa, when a pro-Ethnic Sovereignty leadership is what is desperately needed.
Given how destructive the 1999 Constitution, not even a real Constitution, but a FORGERY is, it is concerning that Mr Peter Obi who dragged Nigerians to the botched 2023 Elections to renew its life when the door to Transitioning was open, is from reports yet again willing to drag suffering Nigerians to 2027 National Elections instead of Transitioning now, in 2025.
Indeed, not only are observers of the Nigeria situation saying that extreme violence is guaranteed, but the Courts like they did in 2023 will decide the President for Nigerians, and doubtless it will again be an APC victory.
My reasons for using Peter Obi as example:
Mr Peter Obi and I are both from Igbo Nation and his promoting a wicked FORGERY as “Constitution” endangers and diminishes Igbo. (Mr Obi came to my late father’s funeral at Ogwashi-Uku and I have nothing personal against him.)
Chief Emeka Anyaoku, a life-long friend of my father at a book launch event attended by Mr Obi in November 2024, raised the alarm and warned that if Nigerians refuse to terminate the 1999 Constitution, Nigeria would not be fixed (a link to the news report is in the NOTES section below).
As an Umuada I must speak up, and respectfully advise Mr Obi that if he will not do the right thing for Igbo Nation and acknowledge that the 1999 Constitution is the foundational problem of Nigeria, he should nevertheless bear in mind the Igbo wisdom of our ancestors that Eziokwu bu ndu, and not continue to obstruct the noble way of those who are working for Constitutional Reconstruction, because a FORGERY cannot remain the basis of a Union.
That 1999 Constitution is a neocolonial Tool that hijacks Sovereignty and Self-Determination, preventing the true Independence Nigerians had wanted in 1960 from manifesting. Africa is on the move, the Global South has entered a new era and the indigenous Ethnic Nations of Nigeria need to be in a safe, working Union of their choice with Sovereignty and Self-Determination restored.
