PDP Intensifies Campaigns In Eket, Visits 11 More Villages

Merriments and jubilation were the hallmark on Wednesday as the PDP Chairmanship Candidate in Eket, Hon Frank Archibong led other party leaders to strengthen his campaigns ahead of the December 2, forthcoming Local Government Elections in the state.  

Amidst chants of “Clear Road for the Chair” by a team of supporters especially the women and a large contingent of party faithful, the PDP Chairmanship Candidate visited all the eleven (11) villages in both Ward 4 Central and Ward 3 Urban respectively. 

The villages covered yesterday were Idung Imoh, Etebi Ikot Usoekong, Ikot Odiong, Idung Akpediumudo and Effoi,  Ikot Ebiyan, Ikot Ebok, Etebi, Akukwot, Asang and Usung Inyang.

In all the villages, the PDP Chairmanship Candidate, Hon Frank Archibong and wife, Bright, his running mate Hon Nsikan John and wife were presented to the people as the winning team as Eket local government remain the stronghold of PDP. 

While presenting the PDP Candidate at the each of the village in Urban 3, the PDP Chapter Chairman in Eket, ObongIwaad Emman Mbong stated that Urban 3 from inception has always supported PDP and will continue to support the party in any election. 

Mbong an indigene of the ward intimated them that Frank Archibong was the best candidate that can relate effectively with Governor Emmanuel to bring the best to Eket, and urged them to vote him enmasse on December 2 and also support the Governor for eight years.

Speaking on behalf of the State Chairman of PDP, Barr Akpadiaha Ebitu said that PDP is the party to beat and Frank Archibong is the best choice. 

He submitted that the party came to present the Chairmanship Candidate, Vice Chairmanship Nominee and Councillorship Candidate to the people so that when they are voted into office on December 2, they will prepare the ground for Udom Emmanuel in 2019. “We are here to present those who will prepare the ground for the governor to be re-elected for a second term.”

At Ikot Ebok, stakeholder of the party in Ward 3 Urban, Pastor Kings Udoidua made a prophetic statement heaven had annointed Frank Archibong as the next chairman of Eket and presented a Souvenir to the PDP Chairmanship Candidate.

In his separate responses, Hon Frank Archibong thanked the people of Urban 3 and Central 4 for their show of love to Governor Emmanuel, and assured them that his election was only a signal of what Governor Emmanuel should expect from the people in 2019.

The PDP flag bearer was elated and reaffirmed his commitment to bring development to Eket people. “We are not here to campaign but to tell the people thank you, for always supporting PDP.”

Speaking on behalf of the women, the wife of the Paramount Ruler of Eket, Obonganwan Mandu Abia said that she joined the campaign train because the party candidates are credible and trustworthy. “I have trust in my children hence my reason to join the campaign team.” 

Earlier, the Campaign Team comprising of party leaders, stakeholders, women and youth visited the Clan Head of Eket Offiong, Chief Samuel Willie Edohoeket who received the party candidates and offered his royal blessings. 

Highpoint of the tour was presentation of Councillorship Candidates to their respective wards.
