PDP e-Registration: Where Innovation Meets Opportunity

The national leadership of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has set the pace for other political parties to follow with the innovative introduction of the

membership e-registration within the Nigerian political space.

The Peoples’ Democratic Party Patriots’ Alliance (PDP_PA) therefore considers it expedient to applaud the decision of the National Working Committee led by Chief Uche Secondus for the vision & foresight in embarking on the e-registration of existing and new members of our great party.

When we rolled out into the Nigerian political scene, the Peoples’ Democratic Party Patriots Alliance came along with its unquantifiable goodwill from genuine lovers of democracy & of our great party – the Peoples’ Democratic Party; majority of whom are young Nigerians gainfully employed in the organized private sector, alongside a large number of Nigerians who are also engaged in diverse forms of private enterprise. 

We held the view that existing youth groups do not appeal to these category of Nigerians because they have remained undefined in their procedures. We were determined to reach out to them; a feat we have accomplished.

It is therefore for the records only that we wish to confirm that one of the innovations we introduced at our level (of youth groups) was the creation of an electronic database of such young Nigerians who though in their prime have chosen to swim against the tide; in resistance to the draconian onslaught of the All Progressives’ Congress and pitch tent with the Peoples’ Democratic Party. 

We were emboldened to so act because we are subject to an outstanding national leadership in the Peoples’ Democratic Party led by our Chairman, Uche Secondus that had concluded arrangements to pilot the first electronic registration of party members in Nigeria.

We are therefore encouraged by our leaders who have risen to the occasion to show Nigeria the way once again. In this era of digitalization, we will not remain analogue. In this era of globalization, we will not remain in the paper age.

Consequently, we call on Nigerians to gear up in readiness for the rollout of this novel innovation. We encourage genuine lovers of our great party – the Peoples’ Democratic Party to endeavor to participate in this e-register exercise as the era of the proverbial “sitting on the fence” has ended. If our ranks must swell ahead of 2019, we must embrace this process and encourage others to do so.

The journey to 2019 has commenced in earnest and it is our expectation that all hands will be on deck to re-take our Nigeria from a group of hungry Shylock bereft of ideas, values and genuine desire for a better Nigeria.
