PDP begs Peter Obi to return, rebuild the party

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has sent a solemn appeal to the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general election, Mr. Peter Obi to return to their fold.

Anambra State PDP chairman, Comrade Chidi Chidebe, made the call after a high powered expanded State Working Committee meeting.

The meeting was held at the party’s Udoka Housing Secretariat headquarter, Awka.

Comrade Chidebe, while reading out a 5-point communique, urged Mr. Obi to return.

He asked him to team up in rebuilding PDP, which he described as his home base.

Chidebe reviewed the state-of-party with a call to members to stay clear of anti-party temptation of any type.

He cautioned members against the so-called coalition with anyone/party.

He expressed confidence in the reconciliation of members.

The communique extended invitation to members who left for one reason or another.

Chidebe expressed full backing and support for the PDP governorship candidate, Chief Jude Ezenwafor.

The party also urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to imbibe fairness and allow level playground in the coming November 8, 2025, governorship election in Anambra State.

It nominated Chief Clem Ezika (SAN) to take up the position of National Ex-Officio in the party’s national hierarchy.

Reiterating the party chapter’s rejection of any form of coalition whatsoever, they admitted readiness to remain unshaken, unadulterated PDP members.

Members were also mandated against any coalition move, stressing that any member to attempt fraternizing with any strange party would be read as anti-party and would be deemed as desertion and be viewed seriously.

Chidebe expressed their party’s concern for the unexpected decamping of the immediate former State chairman, Chief Ndibisi Nwobu. But has made far-reaching adjustments to tackle such gaps.
