Pastor, 2 others killed as bandits attack Niger community

A pastor of the Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA) and two others have been reportedly killed by terrorists in Majure village, Munya local government area of Niger State.

According to media reports, over 50 terrorists stormed the community on motorcycles, causing panic by shooting sporadically.

The criminal elements also abducted 20 people, mostly women and children, and ferried them to an unknown destination in a Sharon bus.

The victims were said to have been killed when they were working on their farms which were close to the church.

Also, a pastor of another church, his wife, and his child were missing which gives the suspicion that they could have been killed or kidnapped.

Meanwhile, the Niger state Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Raphael Opawoye confirmed the unfortunate death of the two church members.

Police authorities in Niger State are yet to issue a statement in respect to the development.
