Alhaji Abbas Sanusi, the most senior councillor and oldest member of the Kano Emirate Council, has died at the age of 92.
The late prince, who held the esteemed title of Galadiman Kano, died on April 1, after a long battle with illness.
He is survived by three wives, numerous children, and many grandchildren.
Galadima was father of Kano APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas and an uncle of Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II.
Sanusi was born in Bichi local government area of Kano state in 1933 and was one of the contenders for the stool of Kano Emir when Ado Bayero died.
Sanusi was in the Kano emirate council since the 1950s. He was Wamban Kano before he was declared Galadiman Kano by Emir Muhammadu Sanusi in October 2014.
