Former governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha has denounces the recent congress held by his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), in his state, saying there was no Congress held in the state.

Senator Okorocha made the remarks on the pretext that there is a substantive Appeal Court judgement on the executives of the party.

He had noticeably absent at the State Congress held over the weekend

Speaking through his Media aide, Sam Onwuemeodo, Okorocha said that in addition to the substantive appeal court judgment, “there is an appeal pending in the Supreme Court over the issue.

“What are we going to talk about the said congress nobody builds something on nothing.

“There is a substantive appeal court judgment on the exco of the party in Imo State, it is not in doubt.

“In addition, an appeal is pending in the Supreme Court and the case has not been decided and somebody said he is conducting a congress.

“We won’t waste our time reacting on such issue, the governor knows and everyone knows that nothing happened. What they had on Saturday probably was a birthday party probably in advance for the governor. Nobody is celebrating anywhere even among their own group, do you see anybody celebrating.”

Other opposition bigwigs that also boycotted the congress including Senator Ifeanyi Araraume.

In the meantime, everybody is keeping mum in Araraume’s camp over outcome of the election that produced a former General Manager of Environmental Transformation Commission (ENTRACO), MacDonald Ebere as chairman.

In other developments, there was pandemonium as heavy gunshots ripped through the APC party congresses in held respectively in Osun and Ogun States.

About a dozen gunmen invaded the Ake Palace Ground in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, venue of the parallel congress of an APC group loyal to the former governor, Ibikunle Amosun.

In Osun State, the story was not much different as heavy gunshots sent the faction loyal to the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, holding a parallel Congress fleeing.

There was palpable tension at the Ogo-Oluwa area via Ladsol where the Congress was holding on Saturday.

It was gathered that scores of party members were injured during the pandemonium.

The incidences were not different either from the APC congress held in Okrika, Rivers State.
