  • Igbo Ekunie’s response to IPOB’S threat of one month sit at home in the Southeast if Nnamdi Kanu is not produced in court on the 20th of October 2021 by the federal Government

Firstly; such a strategy of one month sit at home would have no effect whatsoever on the federal government.

Secondly, its counter-productive and unpopular.

Our people are very poor. Most survive on day to day hustle to feed. When you sit them at home; you end up punishing the same people you are supposed to protect.

This will in time lead to resentment against IPOB. Which is something the federal government would want to weaken the struggle.

We strongly advise the federal government to adhere to the rule of law and make sure that Nnamdi Kanu is produced in court on appointed date and that he is accorded his fundamental rights to fair hearing

In the same vein, we would strongly advise IPOB to jettison the idea of sit at home.

There are more sophisticated and intellectual ways to agitate without hurting the already suffering masses.
