Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution: Should Church Leaders Still Help The Oppressor/Coloniser?
1960 Independence did not free Nigeria from the coloniser. The work of Liberation is therefore ongoing and there are two opposing sides, two Teams, if you like. These two Teams are in an ongoing battle where the Battleground is Preparations for National Elections. Thus, the current Battleground is Preparations for National Elections in 2027.
We have Team Colonisation that is in a battle against Team Complete Decolonisation. Then Nigerians as individuals or in groups join one of these teams.
Team Colonisation
– Political parties sustain and uphold the 1999 Constitution.
– ALL candidates for 2027 National Elections are Willing Tools to renew the life of the fraudulent 1999 Constitution when the winner swears an Oath of Office.
Team Complete Decolonisation
– NINAS Alliance: indigenous peoples organised to Decommission the fraudulent 1999 Constitution.
– Via the orderly process of time-bound Transitioning for Constitutional Reconstruction. There will be no power vacuum because existing governance structures remain in place in transitional capacity.
So far, church leaders in Nigeria have sided with the oppressor, that is, they have sided with Team Colonisation to herd their congregations to successive rounds of National Elections with “Get your PVC!” (voter’s card), thereby renewing the life of the 1999 Constitution, the Instrument of colonisation and corruption, and the source of the spread and deepening of multi-dimensional miseries. Despite knowing that the 1999 Constitution is a fake Constitution, and a Document foisted upon Nigerians, most Christian leaders have not sided with Team Complete Decolonisation.
Since late 2024, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) began to announce that they will be holding their 18th Biennial Conference in February 2025, its theme being “The Rebirth of a Great Nation”. By such a title, are Pentecostal pastors yet again going to side with Team Colonisation, the oppressor? That question must be put to Pentecostal pastors (as well as to pastors and priests of all the other denominations). Other questions to ask them are:
– Which “Great Nation” is being referred to because Nigeria does not consist of nation singular. It was set up as a Union of MANY Ethnic Nations. Of all people, those who say that they give Nigerians messages from God, must value Truth and Plain Speech. Honesty therefore dictates that the Pentecostal pastors provide for all to see, the LEGITIMATE Union Agreement for that “Great Nation” of their Conference theme.
The next area where questions should be asked concerns the Battleground is Preparations for National Elections in 2027 and having chosen to be on Team Colonisation for the last 7 rounds of National Elections, which Team are the Pentecostal pastors now on? Pastor Tunde Bakare, former profession a lawyer, in a video clip denouncing pastors (General Overseers) and saying they are so bad that they should be stoned, that went viral in September 2024 amongst other things said,
“All General Overseers must go to prison. Lock them up!… If the Revolution does not begin in the church and mosque, it cannot spread. Except those institutions change, Nigeria will never change. They control the souls and minds of millions of people… Ask your leaders where they are getting the money to live lavishly from, if it is not from the contribution of the saints it will be from Abuja… Carry the Revolution to all these men who are oppressing us… saying no to corruption, no to oppression. Let the revolution begin.” (A link to the video clip is in the NOTES section below)
Pastor Bakare is well-placed as a former lawyer, a politician who was a vice-presidential candidate, and a pastor, to say that General Overseer pastors live lavishly because of what they get from Abuja, ie from government. He had even added himself as one of the pastors who should get stoned by Nigerians.
The Battleground (ie Preparations for National Elections in 2027) is here right now. It is not only the pastors of the PFN who need to declare whether they are on Team Colonisation or on Team Complete Decolonisation. Every pastor and every priest from every denomination needs to declare which Team they are on. So too should every adult Nigerian at home or in the Diaspora.
In Luke 4:18 Messiah declares His mission.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to SET AT LIBERTY THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED.
It is therefore very clear that liberation from the oppressor (coloniser, enslaver, and their agents) is a most important work that church leaders and that all who claim to be followers of the Messiah should be about.
What of that fraudulent and evil Document, Military Decree 24 masquerading as the 1999 Constitution that hijacks the Sovereignty and Self-Determination of indigenous Ethnic Nations? Again, the Bible is in support of getting such an unjust Document terminated for in Isaiah 10:1,2 it states:
Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed; To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!
A good Providence has provided for Nigerians a Transitioning Template prepared over 20 years, where for the very first time since the British coloniser’s Amalgamation in 1914, every single indigenous Ethnic Nation, no matter its population size, will come to the Discussion Table exercising their Sovereignties to renegotiate a fresh Union that will satisfy and mutually benefit every Ethnic Nation. THAT is the Five-Point NINAS Proposition, and it is what Team Complete Decolonisation is holding.
To rank and file pastors and priests who want to be with Team Complete Decolonisation but are frightened of their superiors who are on Team Colonisation, there is a reminder in the Bible about what happens to those with fear of man rather than fear of God. The same warning is applicable to every adult Nigerian.
