Nigerians berate Uzodinma, INEC, Police for arresting Labour Party candidate at INEC office who demanded results CTC
Nigerians from various backgrounds have berated the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and the Nigerian Police over the arrest of Labour Party (LP) State Assembly candidate, Mr. Clinton Amadi.
Mr. Amadi was arrested at the INEC office where he went to demand the Certified True Copy (CTC) of election results.
News Band had reported on April 5th that the Imo State police command arrested Mr. Amadi on Monday at the state secretariat of INEC located at Port Harcourt Road in Owerri, the state capital.
A source said that the operatives of the Tiger Base of the police command arrested Amadi and he remained in police custody till Wednesday.
Taking to his Twitter handle, the House of Representatives, member-elect and Nigeria Opposition Coalition (CUPP) spokesperson, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere confirmed the development.
He reported that the Labour party candidate had the highest votes for Owerri Municipal State House of Assembly election but the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate was declared winner.
“Imagine, 12,000 votes were accredited with BVAS but 76,000 was given APC. He went for CTC in INEC and he was arrested. #Free Clinton Amadi,” he wrote.
Only in Imo State @onlyinimostate
Hope Uzodimma ended up putting the APC house of Assembly members he rigged into office into problem. Let’s see how court won’t throw all of them out
Aghedo Obamedo @AghedoObamedo
Can someone tell me the difference between APC government and Military government???
KINGS MD @KINGSEUSTACE
APC is that Okada man, who took you through the road that leads to your house, your hope of getting home raised, he then made a sudden U turn, collected all your money and took you to the same place the military planned to drop you.
KINGS MD @KINGSEUSTACE
The new trend… Since BVAS would tell, prevent your opponent from accessing it; just keep shouting “Go to court…”
Constance Justice @Constan02592105
Both at the Fed and state levels, APC led Government is shouting at rooftops, accusing fellow contestants of Treason. Btw @PeterObi, @ClintonAmadi and other opposition party candidates, who actually committed Treason? U stole the people’s votes and turned round to call the victims names
A.T Ahmed, Esq. @barratahmed
But his lawyer should have done that even though it is within his exclusive right to also do that.

Nigeria 🇳🇬 is in a very intense battle between good and evil.
This is condemnable and all well meaning IMO people should stand against this tyranny. Hope is taking IMO state to a place it will take them years to recover.
Iyke Mickey @EzomsIyke
INEC REC in Imo State is complicit.
Son Of Man @Kizisonofman
Imo LP needs someone strong. Hope is something else.
How policemen have turned to a willing tools in the hands of the state governors is something we really need to look into, it is worrisome in Nigeria! How are they going to be operating when state police are created for them and given them absolute powers to control?
Labour party Senatorial Candidate for Imo west, Charles Ahize won the election but Osita Izunaso of APC was declared winner. PDP candidate for NNIN HOR seat Ugonna Ozurigbo @ugonnaozurigbo won his election with more than 10k votes diff. bt INEC has refusd to declare him d winner.
Let God’s will be done @Ilesanm50940083
Is that not what INEC created? Those state governors do take advice from INEC on what to do to cleanse their mess. That is why they resort to arresting other candidates that need CTC of INEC result. If not, there is no way APC would have known they are coming to collect CTC.
Kelechi c Okoro @keleokoro
This is exactly what would have happened in Abia if not for the Heroine of 2023 elections, Nnenna Oti. The truth remains that until the people refused to be swayed by a few crumbs, the Politicians are powerless even with all their stolen money. Compare Nnenna Oti with the Imo REC.

Anniemarie Osas @Adadeboy1
Imo is really in bondage!
This is exactly what happened in the Enugu state governorship election. In ur very eyes. 7k + accreditation 30k plus results Inec reduced the results from 30k to 16k and declare pdp winner.
IMO youths are cowards if not how come Uzodinjo is getting away with all these crimes easily.
Sâiñt Vawulence @SaintVawulence
Una never see anything for Imo State. Hope will give you guys Wike Pro max.
I personally delivered 3polling units in ikenegbu ward 11 001, 002, 003 and yet they declared APC winner.

Slick Teepy @topasfield
IMO will succeed and IMO will come out of this stronger and better.
Police CPs are cashing out in various states to allow Politicians have their way. Imo has been in the news for months and nothing from the IGP.
Macdonald Eze @DjNazMd
We need you in LP senior brother, I see you as the next Governor from Orlu senatorial district, you have the capacity and we will stand by your side. We need a strong force to unseat Hope so that peace can return to that state again.
Emwenosa 45 @emwenosa45
If Imo wants to be free from Hope, let PDP and LP work together oo.
Imo youths are cowards if not how come Uzodinjo is getting away with all these crimes easily.
9ja ZEUS @kayteeRobby
Why are Imo people being used by Hope to perpetuate evil against thier own people? He’s not acting alone in this
May God deliver Imo.
What is going on? Is asking for CTC a crime?
Ngolo Kante of Obidients @drSamAlli
Wike’ has shown the way. And Like Datti rightly said, ‘swear in Tinubu and end democracy’. Are the signs not all over the place. This is what the Govs would all do
Enyeribe Vitus C. @enyeribevitus
My Imo is dead indeed my heart bleeds, am always in pains and I don’t know what to tell God anymore.
What pains me in all of these? @inecnigeria led by Mahmoud has hired some senior lawyers to defend it. “Leadership in Nigeria is shamelessness”.

Ibe Anuforo @anuforo_ibe
Quite really unfortunate that Imo have gone down this way.
I don’t understand this police men carrying out the arrest of perceived political opponents of the ruling party, Is it that discretion is far from them or what?
Onyenobi Teddy @catchupted
Labour party also won in Owerri North State House of Assembly but the local government chairman sent cultists and ebubeagu to the LGA collation centre to beat up all LP agents that night, chased everyone out and declared the APC guy winner.
Ndi Imo ezuzugbuole onwe ha… Mcheeewww!
Is this for real??? Seek redress in Court first for the Outcome of the election, as for the rest it will follow later.
They have blocked the road leading to INEC office again today. Only APC members can have access to the office.
