Nebeife, APGA chieftain, asks ndi Anambra to vote Soludo out

A former National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Comrade Anselem Chinedu Nebeife, has condemned the leadership style of the governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo.

Comrade Nebeife made the remarks in a post he shared on his social media handle, Anselem Chinedu Nebeife, on Wednesday, May 22.

Nebeife slams Soludo

Nebeife lamented that Soludo has failed in his promise to transform the state into African-Dubai-Taiwan.

The notion to transform the state into African-Dubai-Taiwan, it could be recalled, was integral part of his campaign.

He noted that security and welfare of the people is the primary purpose of the government, albeit at any level.

This, the former National Youth Leader said, Governor Soludo has failed to provide in the state.

He regretted that the common obsession of the governor seems to be only tarring of roads.

Another obsession he pointed out is destruction of shops of petty traders.

Nebeife said: “According to the constitution, which is the grand norm, the directive principle of state policy is that the security and welfare of the people is the primary purpose of government.

“In other words, the primal purpose for the existence of government is the security charge, and not the tarring of roads or destruction of shops of petty traders,” he added.

Vote Soludo out!

He, therefore, asked Ndi Anambra to vote him out during the next state governorship election coming up in 2025.

Nebeife stressed: “When a government cannot guarantee the security of her citizens, that government has failed and should therefore, be voted out!”

He noted a sad situation whereby burials events of loved ones and traditional marriages are conducted in the diaspora, Lagos, Abuja, et cetera.

These are event that are normally held in the family compound and village, now relocated because of insecurity.

Nebeife maintained that such examples are evidence of a government that has failed in her primary purpose.

He said: “A prevailing situation where burials of loved ones and traditional marriages are conducted in the diaspora – Lagos, Abuja, etc…

“[This] is a sad report card that speaks of a government that has failed in her primary purpose.

“Tellingly, that report card demands that such a government be ousted through democratic means; read that again!”

Nebeife, who is also known as Ikenga Agunkwo, has always been a vocal force in the affairs of the party.

What is Soludo doing about insecurity in Anambra?

In the meantime, insecurity has remained a nagging issue in Anambra, a South East state of Nigeria.

Despite the attack by Nebeife, though, Soludo insists that he is working hard to alleviate the insecurity woes.

Here are some points about the current state of insecurity in Anambra and Soludo’s claims in addressing the issue:

Infiltration of vigilante operatives

Governor Soludo has alleged that some vigilante operatives are working with criminals, making it difficult to tackle insecurity.

Efforts to address insecurity

Soludo said he has taken measures to address insecurity.

That, he said, includes paying selected vigilante operatives and improving intelligence gathering and sharing.

Situation in Ihiala LGA

Insecurity is a significant concern in Ihiala Local Government Area of the state.

Governor Soludo’s administration claimed it is working to address the issue.

Military collaboration

Soludo has commended the military and other security agencies for their efforts in tackling insecurity in the state.

Relative peace

A source said Anambra has experienced relative peace in recent times, with a decline in cases of insecurity.
