The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has given Max Air the green light to resume operations following an internal review by the airline, which initially led to the suspension of its operations.
The approval was communicated through a letter signed by the NCAA Director of Operations, Licensing, and Training Standards on behalf of the Director-General.
The letter, dated March 17, 2025, was addressed to the Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Max Air Ltd.
Recall that Max Air had voluntarily suspended its operations for 90 days, effective January 31, 2025, to conduct an internal review after repeated incidents in its domestic services.
The regulatory authority welcomed the decision and made the airline’s resumption conditional upon a satisfactory audit.
However, following the audit conducted from February 26 to 28, 2025, the NCAA confirmed that Max Air had demonstrated the capacity to sustain safe flight operations.
Consequently, the Director General of Civil Aviation approved the airline’s return to service, effective midnight on March 17, 2025.
The authority noted that Max Air would be subject to an enhanced surveillance program to ensure continued compliance with aviation regulations.
