Some youths in Anambra State under the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Saturday, stormed the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Office in Awka, the state capital, to protest against the non-release of funds meant for the presidential campaign rally scheduled for Tuesday, January 31st.

The protest group was led by a member of the committee on accommodation, who spoke to newsmen on condition of anonymity.

He accused Senator Emma Anosike and Chief Azuka Okwuosa of trying to sabotage the chances of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in Anambra State.

According to the youths who carried placards with different inscriptions, the APC presidential candidate released millions of naira for the party in the state to mobilize ndi Anambra to the venue of the presidential rally on January 31.

However, the money has been hijacked by the duo of Anosike and Okwuosa who have allegedly refused to release funds to the sub-committees to work.

The leader of the group, therefore, said that if by tomorrow money is not released to sub-committees, the duo should be held responsible if Tinubu comes to Anambra on Tuesday and meets empty or scanty venue.

The APC youths threatened that if after 24 hours, the campaign fund is not released, they will carry out the mother of all protests that will be reported by all major media platforms which will expose these APC leaders that have hijacked the presidential campaign fund.

They equally threatened to send the situation report on the hijack of the money released to Anambra to the APC presidential campaign headquarters Abuja.

A source disclosed that the 30 APC House of Assembly candidates in Anambra state will boycott the presidential rally.

He said that they were not aware that Tinubu is coming to Anambra State on January 31.

The source said: “There was a time the party gave the state assembly candidates one million naira each, to support our campaigns.

“This same cabal hijacked the money. We didn’t see it.

“Now, they have hijacked the over 200 million naira released for Tuesday’s presidential rally.

“We will boycott it. Tinubu will know that APC is dead in Anambra State without us.”
