With all due respect, I disagree with His Grace on this occasion. PVC or Elections is not the solution nor is it the way forward.
We must go back to the drawing board from the point where our basis for Federating was truncated by the brigandage of 1966 (January & July) and the atrocious act of May 27, 1967 by way of Decree #14 which terminated the terms of the Union agreement reached at Lancaster House between 1956 and 1959.
Let it be known this day that we NEVER made, enacted nor gave ourselves the 1999 Constitution which is the basis upon which His Grace is asking us to go get our PVC and participate in an election mandated by same Constitution we NEVER made.
We MUST suspend the 2023 Electoral journey and have a Transitioning Body in place, just like South Africa did with CODESA, after operating Apartheid Constitution for 80years (1910–1990).
The first order of business of the Transitioning Body is to conduct Regional Referendums to find out if the regions are still interested in continuing with the Nigerian Union or if they want out, since the basis of the Union was toppled in 1966 and buried in 1967 via Decree #14.
Politicking, PVC, Elections, and others can now follow after the Regional Referendums and based on the results of the Regional Referendums.
Anything outside of this is mere waste of time.
