Chairman of the Committee, Senator Sam Anyanwu on Monday revealed that Report of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petition on former governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Ameachi will be submitted on Tuesday (today) for consideration.
It could be recalled that an integrity group based in Port Harcourt had petitioned Senate through Rivers state Senators alleging that former governor of Rivers state who is Ministerial nominee mismanaged the fund of the state while in office as governor.
However, the investigation into alleged mismanagement of fund was stopped by the Committee because the matter is before Court.
Addressing newsmen, immediately after the Committee meeting, Senator Anyawu said that the Committee has met on the report and it will be submitted for consideration before the commencement of screening.
The screening of Ameachi was postponed twice due to failure of the Committee to submit its report to the Senate for consideration.
Anyawu said, “All the ministerial nominees are equal. There are petitions and we are treating them. And they are part of today’s (yesterday’s) committee public hearing.
“We have heard that of Amaechi and these reports will be presented tomorrow (today) and by the time it comes out tomorrow (today), the press will have it. I can assure you that the report will be ready tomorrow (today). ”
In related development, the committee earlier dismissed the petition against ministerial nominee, Aisha Abubakar claiming that the petition was wrongly addressed.
The committee stressed that all petitions sent to the Senate must be addressed to the Senate President.

Sen. Anyanwu told the petitioners led by Mrs Balarabe Abdu to properly address the petition and represent it if they still wish to pursue the case.
He added that the letter should be addressed to the Senate through their representative in the Senate.
He said that the letter was addressed directly to President Buhari and the Senate was only copied alongside other recipients.
In her defense, Aisha Mohammed said that she was a public servant and would remain a public servant until she was successfully confirmed by the senate.
