Mbaise nation confers “Enyioma Mbaise” chieftaincy title on Gov. Uzodimma

At a meeting with Traditional Rulers from all three local government areas of the storied Mbaise Nation, held on Saturday, August 13, 2022, the Commissioner for Homeland Security and Vigilante Affairs, Dr. Ugorji Okechukwu Ugorji worked out a unanimous resolution with the royal fathers to convey to Governor Hope Uzodimma a decision of Ndi Eze Mbaise to honour the governor.

The traditional rulers who numbered over 35 told Ugorji to inform Governor Uzodimma that the traditional rulers of Mbaise would unite in his honour, to thank him for the roads he is constructing, the appointments he has given to their sons and daughters, and the great care and respect he has shown to Ndi Eze.

So it was that on August 16, 2022, Governor Hope Uzodimma was received in Mbaise, first at the Palace of Eze Nwaturuocha in Nguru, where he was saluted with 21 canon shots.

From there the Governor’s long convoy travelled to Itu in Ezinihitte Mbaise LGA for Iriji Mbaise 2022.

At the Iriji Mbaise ceremony, the Chairmen of the Traditional Councils for all three Local Government Areas, HRH Eze Nwaturuocha (Aboh Mbaise), HRH Eze Nwaneche (Ahiazu), and HRH Eze O.B. Nwokocha (Ezinihitte) officiated the chieftancy initiation of Governor Uzodimma as Enyioma of Mbaise.

Eze Imo (the Chairman of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers) HRH Dr. Emmanuel Okeke, and HRH Eze David Osuagwu (the Chairman of the Owerri Zone Traditional Rulers) joined the Mbaise traditional rulers in the initiation ceremony.
