LEAKED: INEC REC Caught On Tape, Says Pressure Mounted On Him To Rig Dino Melaye Out Of Feb 23 Election

A leaked tape has shown the Kogi State Resident Electoral Commission [REC], Prof. Apam speaking on the “Pressure “ mounted on him to rig Sen Dino Melaye out of the February 23 National Assembly election.

The audio tape was posted by the Social Democratic Party [SDP] candidate for the November 16 governorship election in Kogi State, Ms. Natasha Akpoti on her Twitter handle.

In the leaked audio, Prof. Apam was heard telling someone on the other end that Dino won Melaye won the election with some 17,000 margin.

Then suddenly there was pressure on him to doctor the result and set Melaye back.

Dino eventually won the election and was confirmed by the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] but the Kogi State election petition tribunal recently nullified the election and ordered for a fresh election.

The sequence was followed by the Court of Appeal which upheld the decision of the election petition tribunal and ordered that another election be held within 90 days.

While posting the video, Ms, Akpoti said: “I hate injustice & can’t keep this to myself.”
