..says OBIdient has triggered registration revolution

…says Obi deserves National award from INEC

“It’s obvious that Mr. Peter Obi presidential project has triggered voter registration Revolution”, were the words of the National President, Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, Comrd Igboayaka O. Igboayaka.

According to Comrd. gboayaka, the already long dead interest of most Nigerians in the nation’s politics has suddenly been rekindled by the declaration of Mr. Peter Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State and and his subsequent emergence as the presidential candidate of Labour party.

This is evident in the influx of persons into INEC offices in quest for the Permanent Voter’s Card, PVC, in readiness for the forthcoming 2023 general election, inspite of over 20-years of total abstinence from electoral participation.

It is no longer news that Mr. Obi has gained the massive support of citizens across the various regions of the country, hence the party currently poses a serious threat to all other opposition parties including the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Speaking during a press briefing in Owerri Imo State capital, the Igboayaka noted that Mr. Peter Obi entrance in Labour Party as the presidential candidate had caused massive voters registration in the country, as he implored the Independent Election Commission (INEC) to organize a national honor for Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP).

Recounting on the backlog of voter’s registration over the years, Igboayaka lamented that INEC had, over the years, spent billions on voters education and sensitisation yet with little or no positive response from the masses.

Adding, he said: “but Mr. Peter Obi’s candidature in Labour Party that gave birth to “OBIdient movement” has recorded large turn out of voters registration within a short period.

“It’s truism that 2022 voters registration has recorded much voters registration than 2014, 2010, 2006 and 2002 since the history of new democratic despensation

“Mr. Peter Obi’s entrance in 2023 presidential race has achieved in 3 months what INEC couldn’t achieve in twenty four years (24), therefore we call on INEC to preparing a national honor to Mr. Peter Obi for making voters education very easy and acceptable them. The 2023 Presidential is not about political party, but the political environment and the theory of Situational politics has favoured Labour Party as a platform to birth a new Nigeria.

“We use this opportunity to advise the likes of Jim Nwodobo, Hope Uzodinma, Okezie Ikpeazu, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and David Umahi to guide their public speeches because 2023 presidential is beyond political permutations.

“The 2023 presidential election have exposed Nigerians particularly the youth that there only two political parties in Nigeria, the oppressed and the oppressors, APC and PDP are the oppressors while the oppressed is Labour Party and other political parties.

“It’s obvious that Mr. Peter Obi presidential project has triggered voter registration Revolution, many Nigerians that have lost interest in Nigeria’s election system, and have not voted for the past 16 to 20 years have regained interest, even those that have never voted before are trooping in to obtain their voter’s card.

However, Igboayaka outlined that the All Progressives Congress, APC and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP are the core enemies of the Southeast, having denied the region the deserved right to produce their Presidential candidates

The Council, therefore, vowed to ensure that the two main parties would not enjoy the benefits of Southeasterners in the general election.

“Our Common enemies in 2023 election is APC and PDP, and to unchain ourselves and future children from political and economic slavery is a task we must fulfill by ensuring that APC and PDP will not win one Seat in Southeast.

“Like APC and PDP humiliated Southeast presidential aspirants, we must reciprocate such wickedness towards them, as a litmus test to show how dissatisfied Southeastners are over these parties. This we must do so as to send a signal that “No party” will toy with Ndigbo and go scot-free.

Continuing, he described the massive demand for a new Nigeria which he maintained could be achieved through Mr. Peter Obi’s presidential project without tribal or religion inclination as “a ballot revolution in Nigeria whose time has come”.
