Kvicha Kvaratskhelia has informed Napoli of his intent to leave during the January transfer window. Notably, Premier League clubs and Paris Saint-Germain have shown interest in the Georgian international.
Moreover, speculation surrounding Kvaratskhelia has intensified this month, with Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United linked to the unsettled forward. Consequently, it seems he will join a new club soon.
Furthermore, Napoli manager Antonio Conte confirmed that Kvaratskhelia expressed his desire to leave. He acknowledged this development on Saturday, indicating that the 23-year-old is eager for a change.
Conte stated, “We are discussing an important player. Last summer, I spoke to the president about retaining key talents.”
Additionally, he mentioned, “Despite requests to be sold, I worked hard to keep the players I desired. Kvaratskhelia asked the club to facilitate his transfer.”
Expressing disappointment, Conte remarked, “This situation feels unexpected. I never intended to confine him here if he chooses to stay.”
He added, “I aimed to convince him of our project’s value, but evidently, I did not succeed. We are set to lose a vital player.”
While Premier League interest exists, PSG currently leads the race for Kvaratskhelia’s signature. Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna reports that the French club is nearing a verbal agreement for a potential deal next week.
Kvaratskhelia, who joined Napoli from Dinamo Batumi for €10–12 million in 2022, significantly contributed to the club’s Scudetto victory during his debut season. He has achieved 59 goal involvements in 107 matches across all competitions.
Although his contract extends until 2027, Napoli has made minimal progress in negotiating a new deal for the talented winger.
