Kaduna police command disowns impostor, arrests suspect for Inciting social media comment

Kaduna State, Nigeria – April 4, 2025- The Kaduna State Police Command has disowned an impostor posing as a police officer.

Furthermore, they arrested a suspect for inciting social media comments.

This announcement came from DSP Mansir Hassan, the police public relations officer, via their official X handle on March 4, 2025.

This situation arose from a controversial Facebook post by Hadaina Hussaini, known as Dan-taki. The post claimed, “Kaduna Police Officer Threatens Retaliation Against Southerners in Uromi Killings,” which alarmed the public and circulated widely across social media platforms.

In response, the Kaduna State Police clarified that Hussaini is not a member of the Nigeria Police Force. They emphasized that his appearance in police uniform is misleading and unauthorized.

DSP Mansir Hassan explained that Hussaini wore the uniform during his time with the Police Special Constabulary. Notably, he was dismissed two years ago due to questionable character. The Command also highlighted his identity card, which bore the designation “PSC/KD,” indicating his previous role.

The viral images of Hussaini in uniform were posted two years prior to his dismissal. Consequently, the Command urged the public to scrutinize such details to avoid being misled by impostors.

In light of these developments, Hussaini has been arrested and is currently under investigation. He will face charges in court once preliminary inquiries conclude, in accordance with existing laws.

The Kaduna State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order. They condemned incitement, hate speech, and threats to national peace. DSP Mansir Hassan reiterated, “The Nigeria Police Force is dedicated to upholding justice and ensuring citizen safety.”

Commissioner of Police, CP Rabi’u Muhammad, urged the public to stay calm and vigilant. He encouraged citizens to report suspicious activities to the police promptly.

This case highlights the importance of verifying information shared on social media. The Kaduna State Police Command remains committed to protecting lives and fostering peace across the region.
