JUST IN: S’Court reverses sack of Zamfara gov, Dauda Lawal

The Supreme Court has returned governor Dauda Lawal as the duly elected governor of Zamfara state.
The apex court in a landmark ruling, set aside, the judgement of the Appeal Court which had declared the governorship election inconclusive and ordered a re-run in three local government areas of the state.
While delivering the lead judgement of the Supreme Court, Emmanuel Agim described the ruling of the lower Court of Appeal as perverse.
According to the justice Agim, the lower court’s decision lacked evidential foundation.
“The decision of the Court of Appeal has no evidential foundation.
