Mudashiru Obasa, the ousted Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, stormed the assembly’s complex on Thursday.

Sources revealed that Obasa entered the Speaker’s Office around noon, following reports of security aides being withdrawn from the current Speaker, Mojisola Meranda.

This is the first time the Agege lawmaker will be seen at the assembly’s complex since he was booted out of office by his colleagues in January.

Segun Ajiboye, Meranda’s spokesman, confirmed the incident, alleging that Obasa and his team forcefully accessed the office.

“We’re at the assembly now,” a source close to Obasa stated.

News Band reported that the Assembly has been in crisis since Obasa’s removal, which led to Meranda’s election as Speaker.

Lawmakers had accused Obasa of poor leadership, chronic lateness to legislative sessions, authoritarian tendencies, and a strained relationship with both colleagues and the state governor.

Allegations of abuse of office, intimidation, and mismanagement of resources were also raised.
