Japa: Denmark announces visas for welders, mechanics, teachers, others
Following the growing level of labour shortage, the government of Denmark has announced entry for welders, bricklayers, mechanics, teachers and other professional workers.
The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) disclosed that 72 people who are highly educated and 38 persons who are highly skilled to fill various positions would be needed within the country.
The visa applications have been effective from January 1, 2024, as updated by SIRI for the Positive Lists for both graduates and skilled workers.
Meanwhile, aside from the skilled workers, the Danish authorities outlined other areas where workers would be needed, including scientists, engineers, medical doctors, nurses, educationists, economists, IT experts, architects, pharmacists, accountants,
Insurance agents, sales consultants, sales and account managers, customs officers, real estate agents, property managers, and medical secretaries are also listed.
Also, Denmark needs to fill other positions such as landscape gardener, precision mechanic, electrician, and cabinetmaker.
The Scandinavian country is currently loosening its immigration laws to attract talent and lowered the minimum salary requirement by expanding the work permit fast-track scheme.
